The LGBTQ committee is comprised of Coalition and member agency staff that identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/ or queer. The goal of the committee is to identify and address the needs for LGBTQ staff and clients in order to provide better services to the LGBTQ community and to foster a supportive work environment for LGBTQ staff.

The committee's vision includes:

• Training and education on LGBTQ issues to staff, board members, volunteers, and Soar
  
• Support for LGBTQ staff, board members and volunteers
  
• Research on issues related to domestic violence and intimate partner violence in LGBTQ relationships
  
• Developing and ensuring there are comprehensive services available to LGBTQ victims of domestic violence.
