Law Enforcement Advocate: Cranston Police Department, Johnston Police Department, Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center, Day One

Under the direct supervision of the Detective Captain of the Cranston Police Department and the Lieutenant of the Johnston Police Department, the LEA will provide enhanced services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the City of Cranston and the Town of Johnston.  The LEA will receive additional guidance from the Manager of Advocacy Services at the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center and the Legal Advocacy Services Coordinator at Day One as needed

Shelter Manager. Women's Resource Center of Newport and Bristol Counties 

Shelter Manager supports victims of domestic violence.  The successful candidate will be a clear communicator and compassionate with appropriate educational background and/or two years work experience with victims of domestic violence.  Need reliable and insured car.  Spanish or Portuguese language fluency a plus.  Competitive hourly wage/benefits.  EOE.

Position Summary:  The Shelter Manager manages the Shelter Program.  This individual is responsible for providing residential services, coordinating and facilitating case management for residents, and providing effective advocacy on behalf of the residents. The Shelter Manager is responsible for the supervision of evening and over-night advocates, and for coordinating services by other internal and external providers.

Licensed Counselor. Women's Resource Center of Newport and Bristol Counties

Women's Resource Center of Newport and Bristol Counties is looking for part-time to full-time independently-licensed counselor to provide counseling to adult victims of domestic violence and children exposed to domestic violence on a fee-for-service basis.  Training, supervision provided.  Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.  Our agency places

Director of Residential Services. New Hope, Inc., Attleboro, MA

Helping people since 1979, New Hope, Inc. is a non-profit organization based out of Attleboro, MA that works to strengthen individuals and families by ending domestic and sexual violence.  New Hope is seeking a full-time (35 hours/week) Director of Residential Services to oversee the operations of two emergency shelters and a five-apartment Transitional Living Program.  The Director of Residential Services reports directly to the VP of Operations and is responsible for the overall management of all residential programs and 24-hour emergency hotline.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Social Work or related field preferred with a minimum of three years management experience in a residential setting
  • Domestic violence and/or sexual assault services experience preferred
  • Bilingual preferred

The part-time Overnight Shelter Advocate supports victims of domestic violence.  The successful candidate will be a clear communicator and compassionate individual with an appropriate educational background to include a working knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and sexual abuse.  Need to have a reliable and insured car.

Domestic Violence Court Advocate, Women’s Resource Center

Part Time Court Advocate position available, 20 hrs. a week, to provide advocacy and support to victims of domestic violence during District Court proceedings and assist persons applying for temporary restraining orders in Newport County Court house.  $14-$16 per hour depending upon experience.
