Previous Campaigns

The 2010 DVAM campaign was designed to break down stereotypes about abuse. The "It Happens Here" campaign expanded from conventional advertising into social media, with the use of YouTube videos to tell Rhode Islanders’ true stories of surviving domestic violence.The survivors told their stories of overcoming abuse to reinforce the message that domestic violence happens in every community in Rhode Island and to urge everyone to reach out to those we suspect are in an abusive situation.
