How does the law define domestic violence? How are domestic violence cases treated differently than others? How do restraining orders work? Can you be evicted for being a victim of domestic violence? Over the last 35 years, many laws have been passed to address domestic violence, both in Rhode Island and federally. This training will provide advocates and community members with a basic understanding of how these laws protect victims (and why they sometimes fall short).
