Economic abuse is a tactic that most abusers use to maintain power and control. Victims of abuse are often left with no income, no credit standing and a feeling of dependence on their abusers for basic living needs. In order for victims to end their abusive relationships, they must feel financially secure, which is why The Allstate Foundation has designed the Moving Ahead Through Financial Literacy program. Advocates and staff from community-based organizations are invited to a "train-the-trainer" session that will provide attendees with 1) instructions on how to use this tool and 2) free copies of the curriculum.
