The six member agencies of the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence provided community services to 9,694 victims of domestic violence in 2011.
Client Services
- 548 adults and children received shelter
- 17,588 nights were spent in shelter
- 13,374 hotline calls were answered
- 4,096 victims received individual advocacy services
- 326 clients participated in a support or educational group
- 258 clients received clinical/counseling services
Criminal Justice
- 3,353 victims obtained Temporary Restraining Orders
- 5,527 victims of abuse were assisted by a Court Advocate in District Court
Prevention and Education
- 16,507 elementary, middle, and high school youth were reached through prevention education
- 1,300 people attended 63 RICADV presentations on domestic violence to raise community awareness
- 13,938 community members attended statewide domestic violence presentations
