The RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence coordinates several committees focused on raising awareness about domestic violence in different communities throughout Rhode Island. Since domestic violence does not discriminate, but impacts each community in a unique way, we strive to address the specific needs of each community with special programs. These include our Rural Outreach Project, Communities of Color Against Violence, and the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Queer Committee.
In addition, the Coalition provides culturally competent trainings to advocates in the domestic violence movement and our partners. We also work with teachers and youth in Rhode Island schools to implement effective prevention strategies to break the cycle of violence.
